Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 52 per cent reaching US$604 million in the first five days of January in 2026.
The latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued on Tuesday confirmed the matter.
Last year, during the same period, the country's remittance inflow was $397 million.
During the July to 5 Jan of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances of $16,869 million, which was $14,174 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
