Bangladesh Bank (BB) has enhanced the annual license renewal fee for Money Changers (MCs) across the country to Tk10,000.
“It has now been decided to enhance the said fee to Tk10,000,” said BB in a circular issued on Monday.
This non-refundable fee was previously set at Tk5,000, a rate that had remained unchanged since instructions were first issued on 19 February 2002.
The central bank has directed all Authorised Dealers and Licensed Money Changers to take note of the new structure, which is scheduled to come into effect on 15 January 2026.
The circular, signed by BB’s Director Monoar Uddin Ahmed, clarified that while the fee amount has changed, all other instructions regarding the renewal process will remain unchanged.
