EU seeks level playing field, policy stability for businesses

European Union (EU) Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller has stressed the need for a level playing field for EU operators and sustained policy stability to further strengthen Bangladesh-EU bilateral relations.

He also called for the completion of reforms initiated by the interim government.

The ambassador made the remarks while delivering a keynote address titled "The EU Means Business in Bangladesh" at the EuroCham Business Evening 2026 in Dhaka recently, said an EU press release on Sunday. 

In his address, Miller described the EU as a steadfast and reliable partner of Bangladesh, highlighting the depth and resilience of the EU's commercial engagement with the country.

He underscored the strength of the EU-Bangladesh trade relationship and recalled the bloc's continued support for democratic renewal.

The event was hosted by the EU Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh, the official chamber of the EU in Bangladesh and part of the European Business Organisation (EBO) Worldwide Network, at the United Convention Centre.

It brought together EuroCham members, representatives of the EU Delegation, ambassadors of EU member states, trade officials, business leaders, partners and government representatives to promote dialogue and cooperation for European businesses operating in Bangladesh.
