The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to Bangladesh Thitiporn Chirasawadi on Monday paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor MD Mostaqur Rahman at the central bank headquarters in Dhaka.
Senior officials from the BB also attended the meeting, which focused on strengthening bilateral economic relations and deepening institutional collaboration between the two countries.
During the discussions, both sides explored avenues to enhance trade and investment, improve financial operations, and promote knowledge sharing at the institutional level.
They emphasised three key areas of cooperation: expansion of economic and trade ties, facilitation of increased investment, and reinforcement of institutional partnerships.
The dialogue highlighted practical strategies to improve technical capacity and expertise exchange among officials, particularly in streamlining export-import settlement procedures and other financial operations.
The Thai envoy and the BB Governor examined ways to make bilateral trade more efficient while sharing experiences in institutional governance.
Governor Mostaqur Rahman expressed gratitude to the Government of Thailand and the Bank of Thailand for their continued support, especially for providing training opportunities to BB officials, which contribute significantly to the professional development of the central bank staff.
The meeting concluded in a cordial atmosphere, with both parties reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening economic cooperation, promoting investment and maintaining close institutional collaboration to benefit both nations’ financial and trade sectors.
