Ethiopia has invited Bangladeshi companies to invest in key sectors, citing sustained economic growth and expanding opportunities in renewable energy and industry.
The invitation was made during a meeting in Addis Ababa between Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman and Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos, according to an official message received on Tuesday.
Gedion Timothewos highlighted Ethiopia’s continued economic expansion and identified priority areas for investment, including renewable energy generation, agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment manufacturing and the wider industrial sector. He encouraged Bangladeshi investors to explore these opportunities, noting the potential for mutually beneficial partnerships.
Dr Khalilur Rahman reaffirmed Bangladesh’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, with a focus on expanding trade and investment cooperation.
Both sides also discussed ways to enhance collaboration in bilateral and multilateral forums. They agreed to deepen economic engagement and sectoral cooperation as part of efforts to elevate relations between the two countries.
