Bangladesh has made another big step forward in eco-friendly clothes manufacturing. Four more of its ready-made garment factories have just won prestigious international awards for being green and safe for the environment.
Mohiuddin Rubel, the head of the local industry group Bangladesh Apparel Voice, shared the good news in a recent statement. With these new additions, Bangladesh now has a total of 290 green-certified clothing factories. Out of these, 125 have received the highest “Platinum” award, and 145 hold the excellent “Gold” award.
The newly recognised factories include Canvas Garments in Chattogram, which scored a high 90 points, and Matrix Sweaters in Gazipur, which earned 88 points. Because of their hard work to save energy and water, both factories were given the top Platinum status under the global green building rating system.
Additionally, Karim Textiles in Gazipur achieved a Gold award with 73 points, and Karim Tex in Dhamrai received a Silver award with 53 points.
These latest achievements show that Bangladesh is continuing to lead the world in sustainable fashion. In fact, 53 out of the world’s top 100 highest-scoring green factories are located right here in Bangladesh, proving that the local clothing industry is deeply committed to protecting the planet.
