Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank has set a target to disburse 400 crore taka in loans across the Rajshahi zone during the 2026–27 fiscal year as part of a strategy to support agricultural expansion and protect bank profitability.
The operational strategy was finalised during a regional review and performance evaluation conference held at Nanking Darbar Hall in Rajshahi City.
Speaking at the event, managing director Golam Mortuza emphasised that meeting performance benchmarks across all operational metrics is essential for maintaining financial stability.
He noted that current economic policies focus on building an inclusive national financial system while ensuring banking facilities remain accessible to rural communities.
The meeting brought together regional executives to design practical frameworks aimed at supporting local farmers, small entrepreneurs, and sustainable businesses.
General managers Taj Uddin Ahmed and Mizanur Rahman addressed delegates as special guests, while zonal manager Mohabbat Ali Biswas chaired the proceedings.
Outlining specific operational goals, zonal manager Mohabbat Ali Biswas confirmed that the institution aims to reduce its proportion of non-performing loans to 10 per cent over the coming fiscal year.
The strategy focuses on improving loan recovery mechanisms alongside expanding credit access for eco-friendly agricultural initiatives across northern Bangladesh.
At the conclusion of the summit, branch managers received formal certificates of appreciation for their high performance across key financial indicators during the preceding operating period.
