The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) on Tuesday adjusted the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) upward, and now a 12 kilogram (kg) LPG cylinder will be sold to the consumers at Tk 1,253 instead of Tk 1,215.

“The newly fixed price of LPG is Tk 1,253, which will be effective from 6:00pm on Tuesday, and all LPG marketing companies will sell the LPG at the new rate,” said BERC chairman Jalal Ahmed.

According to BERC, the LPG price was Tk 1,215 for a 12-kg cylinder in November.

He said the prices of all 13 different sizes of LPG-filled cylinders were adjusted for December in line with new price adjustments by Saudi Arabia-based Aramco that sets the contract price, or CP, for LPG at the beginning of each month for term contracts.

The BERC also refixed the autogas price at Tk 57.32 per litre, while per kilogram of LPG at the reticulated stage at Tk 100.66 at the retailer level inclusive of VAT is owned by the private sector, and Tk 223.80 per cubic metre of supplied LPG in the gas system is owned by the private sector.

As per the BERC decision, 12.5 kg LPG has been re-fixed at Tk 1,305, 15 kg at Tk 1,566, 16 kg at Tk 1,671, 18 kg at Tk 1,880, 20 kg at Tk 2,088, 22 kg at Tk 2,298, 25 kg at Tk 2,610, 30 kg at Tk 3,133, 33 kg at Tk 3,446, 35 kg at Tk 3,654 and 45 kg at Tk 4,699.
