The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has announced that the retail price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) will remain unchanged for the month of March, maintaining the rate fixed in February.

According to a press release issued on Monday, the revised price took effect from 6pm the same day.

BERC confirmed that the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder has been retained at Tk1,341 for March, keeping it at the level set during the previous adjustment.

The commission had last revised LPG prices on 23 February, when it reduced the price of a 12kg cylinder by Tk15 to Tk1,341. Despite fluctuations in global energy markets and currency exchange rates, authorities decided not to modify the cylinder price this month.

However, there has been a minor adjustment in autogas prices. BERC reduced the consumer price of autogas by 3 paisa per litre for March. Including value-added tax (VAT), the new price has been fixed at Tk61.83 per litre. In the previous revision, autogas was reduced by 28 paisa to Tk61.86 per litre, including VAT.

BERC stated that it reviews and adjusts LPG and autogas prices on a regular basis, taking into account international market movements and exchange rate changes to ensure alignment with global pricing trends.

Industry observers say stable pricing this month may provide some relief to consumers amid rising energy concerns and global market volatility.
