The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has announced an increase in the price of Jet A-1 aviation fuel for March, setting the rate for domestic flights at Tk112.41 per litre, inclusive of duty and VAT.

The new price will take effect from 12am on Monday, according to the commission’s official order issued on Sunday.

In February, the price for domestic jet fuel stood at Tk108.79 per litre, making the March revision an increase of Tk3.62 per litre.

For international flights operated by both domestic and foreign airlines, BERC fixed the price of Jet A-1 at $0.7384 per litre, excluding duty and VAT. This reflects a rise from February’s rate of $0.7131 per litre.

The commission’s decision followed a hearing based on market analysis and pricing proposals, considering several key factors.

These included the average Platts rate of Jet A-1 between 5 February and 4 March 2026, the US dollar exchange rate used for LC settlements by the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), and recent changes in local diesel prices.

BERC officials noted that the aviation fuel pricing mechanism aligns domestic prices with international benchmarks and import costs, taking into account currency fluctuations and global petroleum market movements.

The revised Jet A-1 prices will remain in effect until the next monthly review, the commission said.
