Petrol pump owners in Rajshahi have warned that they may suspend operations from Monday if fuel supplies to the northern region are not restored.

The warning was issued by the Rajshahi District Petrol Pump and Tank Lorry Owners’ Association, following reports of serious supply disruptions affecting all 42 filling stations in the district.

According to pump owners, only a small number of stations are currently receiving limited fuel shipments, while many others have been forced to halt sales due to insufficient supply.

Monimul Haq, president of the association, said the uneven distribution of fuel is creating tension among pump operators and complicating daily operations.

He added that the shortage has also led to frequent disputes between station employees and customers who are unable to obtain fuel.

“If the government does not ensure adequate supply to meet the demand, all petrol pumps in Rajshahi will stop lifting fuel from Monday,” Monimul warned.

To address the situation, the association plans to submit a memorandum to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources through the local district administration, urging immediate action to resolve the crisis.
