The Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) has announced a new schedule for the distribution of fuel products from its government depots across the country, aiming to ensure smooth and uninterrupted supply amid ongoing global energy market uncertainties.
The announcement was made on Saturday through a press release signed by BPC Secretary Shahina Sultana.
According to the press release, the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, in coordination with BPC, has instructed all marketing companies to continue supplying fuel products nationwide without disruption, in response to the supply challenges arising from the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
To streamline the process and ensure timely delivery of fuel to filling stations, packed point dealers and pumps, BPC has set a new distribution schedule from its main depots and facilities. Under the revised schedule, fuel distribution will commence at 7am and continue until 3pm daily. Previously, dealers were allowed to collect fuel from 9am to 5pm.
The press release emphasised that the adjustment is intended to optimise operations at the depot level, reduce delays, and maintain adequate supply for consumers nationwide.
It further noted that all responsible parties are expected to comply strictly with the new timing to ensure that fuel products reach retailers efficiently.
BPC also urged dealers and station operators to cooperate fully with the schedule and avoid any practices that could create artificial shortages or disrupt normal supply chains.
