A vessel carrying jet fuel has arrived at Chattogram Port on Tuesday, bringing some relief to the country’s fuel supply situation amid ongoing pressure.

Port sources said the vessel Great Princess, transporting around 12,000 tonnes of jet fuel, berthed at the jetty at around 8am after arriving from Singapore. The consignment was supplied by Indian Oil Corporation Limited.

It was known that the arrival is part of continued efforts to maintain a stable supply of aviation fuel in the country, especially as demand remains steady.

Meanwhile, two more vessels carrying diesel are expected to reach the outer anchorage of the port later on Tuesday night. One of them, MT Torm Damini, is bringing approximately 33,000 tonnes of diesel supplied by Unipac Singapore Pte Ltd. Another vessel, MT Lucia Solis, is carrying around 35,000 tonnes of diesel from Vitol Asia.

Earlier this month, fuel shipments also arrived in phases. On 3 April, MT Yuan Jing He delivered about 27,000 tonnes of diesel, followed by MT Shan Gang Fa Jian, which supplied an additional 34,000 tonnes on the same day.

Energy sector officials said the steady arrival of fuel-laden vessels is expected to ease supply pressure in the domestic market. Authorities are closely monitoring imports to ensure uninterrupted fuel availability for transportation, power generation and industrial use.
