A significant administrative reshuffle has been carried out at the top tier of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) and its subsidiary companies, involving the transfer and reassignment of seven senior officials.
The changes were formalised through an office order signed by Shahina Sultana, secretary of BPC’s Chattogram head office on Thursday. The order stated that the reshuffle was made with approval from the competent authority in the interest of administrative efficiency and public service.
Under the new postings, Md Yusuf Hossain Bhuiyan, who was serving as managing director of LP Gas Limited and also holding additional responsibility as senior general manager at BPC, has been appointed managing director of Jamuna Oil Company Limited.
In a reciprocal move, Engineer Md Amir Mohammad, the outgoing managing director of Jamuna Oil Company Limited (current charge), has been transferred to LP Gas Limited in the same capacity.
Senior General Manager (Audit) Md Abul Kalam Azad has been made chief executive officer of Standard Asiatic Oil Company Limited. Meanwhile, the current CEO of the company, Ferdousi Masum Himel, has been reassigned as general manager of BPC’s Distribution and Marketing Division.
Other changes include Muhammad Morshed Hossain Azad, previously general manager of Commercial and Operations Division, who has now been posted to Finance Division. Mohammad Zahid Hossain, earlier attached to the chairman’s office, has been made general manager of Commerce and Operations Division.
Md Jahangir Kabir has been shifted from Finance Division to Audit Division as part of the reshuffle.
Officials have been instructed to join their new posts by the afternoon of 16 April. The order warned that failure to comply would result in immediate release. The reshuffle, according to the order, aims to bring greater dynamism to the corporation’s administrative operations.
