Dhaka gas supply will remain suspended for eight hours in several parts of the capital on Tuesday as Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC carries out pipeline maintenance to improve the reliability of the city's gas distribution network.

According to Titas Gas, the shutdown is required to replace ageing and leaking distribution pipelines and install new service lines in the Free School Street, Hatirpool, Pukurpar and Dhanmondi areas.

As a result, residential and commercial consumers in Free School Street, Bhuter Goli, Kitchen Road, Al Amin Road and Kanthalbagan will be without gas from 12:00pm to 8:00pm.

The company also warned that consumers in neighbouring areas may experience low gas pressure during the maintenance period.

Titas Gas said the work is part of efforts to strengthen the safety and reliability of the natural gas distribution network and apologised for the temporary inconvenience caused to customers.
