People living and working in parts of Comilla will face daily 12-hour gas cuts over three days starting Monday while engineers carry out urgent repairs on main supply pipelines.

Energy authority Petrobangla announced on Saturday night that the temporary cuts are needed for essential maintenance across the network run by Bakhrabad Gas Distribution Company Limited. The work will happen in stages across different areas.

On Monday, 27 July, gas will be turned off from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm in Comilla City and surrounding areas.

On Tuesday, 28 July, the same 12-hour cut will affect Comilla Sadar South, Chouara, Suagazi, and nearby neighbourhoods during the same hours.

On Wednesday, 29 July, the final round of work will take place, cutting gas to Comilla Cantonment, Chandina, and nearby areas between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm.

Bakhrabad Gas confirmed that normal gas supply will return as soon as the scheduled repairs are completed each day, apologising to customers for the temporary disruption.
