Cultural Advisor Mustafa Sarwar Farooqui, who fell ill on an official visit to Cox's Bazar and urgently returned to Dhaka, is out of danger, his wife Nusrat Imroz Tisha said.

He confirmed the matter in a status posted on social media Facebook around 2 am on Saturday.

Tisha wrote, "Mostafa Sarwar Farooqui fell ill while attending a ministry workshop in Cox's Bazar and was brought to Dhaka. He is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Doctors said he (the advisor) fell ill due to excessive work pressure. He is out of danger for now. Everyone will pray for him."

Earlier, Cultural Advisor Mustafa Sarwar Farooqui arrived in Cox's Bazar on a four-day visit on Friday afternoon. The next day, Saturday night, when he felt unwell, the trip was postponed and he was urgently taken to Dhaka from Cox's Bazar Airport by air ambulance.

Cox's Bazar Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Imran Hossain Sajeeb said, "The advisor was supposed to attend several programs related to the cultural hub in Cox's Bazar and the installation of the July Memorial. The remaining programs have been canceled."

He said that local doctors, led by the civil surgeon, provided the advisor with primary treatment while he was in Cox's Bazar.
