Bhooth Bangla, starring Akshay Kumar, has made a stronger-than-expected start at the Indian box office, maintaining steady momentum as it approaches its first week in cinemas despite competition from Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned ₹6.15 crore on its sixth day from 11,584 shows, taking its total India net collection to ₹78.90 crore and gross to ₹93.87 crore. It had also collected ₹3.75 crore through paid previews ahead of its official release.

The film has performed strongly overseas, adding ₹2.00 crore on Day 6 and bringing its international total to ₹33.50 crore. Its worldwide gross now stands at ₹127.37 crore.

Directed by Priyadarshan, the film marks his reunion with Akshay Kumar after 14 years. It features an ensemble cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi and Asrani. The project is produced by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Cape of Good Films, with Kumar, Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa Kapoor among the producers.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2 continues its extended run at the box office. On its 35th day, the film earned ₹1.70 crore across 3,910 shows, taking its India net collection to ₹1,121.09 crore and gross to ₹1,341.90 crore.

It added ₹0.25 crore overseas on the same day, bringing its international total to ₹422.25 crore and worldwide earnings to ₹1,764.15 crore. With global revenue nearing ₹1,759 crore, the film has pushed its franchise total beyond ₹3,019 crore, becoming the first Indian film series to cross the ₹3,000 crore mark, surpassing franchises such as Baahubali and Pushpa.

Starring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt, Dhurandhar 2 was released on 19 March and is now aiming to become the highest-grossing Indian film by net earnings, with its sights set on overtaking Pushpa 2.
