After completing a successful theatrical run during Eid-ul-Fitr, the action-thriller “Domm” is preparing for its digital release on the OTT platform Chorki. The film will be available for streaming from 21 May, according to an announcement made by the platform.
Directed by Redoan Rony, the film features Afran Nisho, Chanchal Chowdhury and Puja Chery in the lead roles. The streaming platform confirmed that viewers in Bangladesh as well as international audiences will be able to watch the film from 12am (Bangladesh time) on the release date.
“Domm” had earlier been released in cinemas during Eid-ul-Fitr, where it gained significant attention for its large-scale production design, visual presentation, and technical quality. The film also had overseas screenings, particularly in the United States, where it attracted interest from Bangladeshi expatriate audiences.
Inspired by real-life events, the story of “Domm: Until the Last Breath” follows a Bangladeshi individual who survives a near-death experience during events linked to Afghanistan, exploring themes of endurance and transformation.
The screenplay was developed by Redoan Rony in collaboration with Syed Ahmed Shawki, Al-Amin Hasan Nirjhar, Md Saifullah Riyad and Robiul Alam Robi. The film has been jointly produced by SVF Alpha-i Entertainment Limited and Chorki.
Director Redoan Rony said he hopes the OTT release will help the film reach a wider audience, especially those who were unable to watch it in theatres due to distance or scheduling limitations.
SVF Alpha-i Managing Director Shahriar Shakil also expressed satisfaction with the film’s theatrical response and said the digital release is expected to expand its global reach further.
