Shakira and Nigerian singer Burna Boy have released Dai Dai, the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, FIFA said on Friday.
The track, described by FIFA as a celebration of “football, culture and unity”, brings together Latin and Afrobeats influences in a multilingual global pop production. The song is now available on major streaming platforms.
FIFA said royalties from the release will support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, which aims to raise funds for children’s education projects linked to football development.
Shakira first teased the collaboration in early May, sharing a short clip filmed at Brazil’s Maracanã Stadium. In the post, she wrote: 'From Maracaná Stadium, here is "Dai Dai", the FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026.'
The teaser featured stadium-style choreography and visuals inspired by participating nations, alongside the official 2026 match ball. Reports also suggest the track carries a chant-like, crowd-friendly chorus designed for stadium participation, reflecting traditional World Cup anthem style.
On Thursday, FIFA also confirmed that the World Cup final on 19 July in New Jersey will include a halftime show headlined by Madonna, Shakira and the South Korean group BTS. The event marks the first time a World Cup final will feature a formal entertainment show modelled on major US sporting finals.
The 2026 tournament will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico and is scheduled to begin in June.
Shakira, who previously delivered one of the most iconic World Cup songs with Waka Waka in 2010, returns to the tournament stage as FIFA continues to expand its entertainment-led approach to global football events.
