The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has ordered the removal of President Md. Shahabuddin's photo from all diplomatic missions, consulates, and diplomats' offices and residences abroad. Some regional ambassadors/high commissioners have been informed of this instruction over the telephone.

This information has been confirmed by sources in various missions abroad. The source further said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed some regional ambassadors/high commissioners to remove President Md. Shahabuddin's photo from diplomatic missions, consulates, and diplomats' offices and residences through telephone calls without any formal letter or e-mail. The envoys in charge have been asked to convey this instruction to other missions.

A responsible diplomat said that instructions have been given to remove President Md. Shahabuddin's photo from diplomatic missions, consulates, and diplomats' offices and residences in Dhaka. This was not communicated through a formal letter or email. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed some regional envoys about the government's directive over the telephone. They are informing other missions. At the same time, they will supervise the removal of the picture.

Another diplomat told Ganamadhya, "The ambassador assigned to our region did not directly inform us. On his behalf, an ambassador from a nearby mission informed us about this directive."
