The hearing of former Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque's bail and case cancellation application in the case of the murder of Jubo Dal activist Abdul Qayyum Ahad in Dhaka's Jatrabari during the July Movement will be held in the last week of October.

Justice Zakir Hossain and Justice KM Rasheduzzaman Rajar fixed the time and date on Sunday in response to the application of Khairul Haque's lawyer.

A junior lawyer took time for Khairul Haque in the court. However, no senior Awami League lawyer was present in the court. Attorney General Md. Many lawyers for the state, including Asaduzzaman, were present.

Earlier, on August 11, during the July Movement, a scuffle and scuffle broke out between pro-Awami League and state lawyers at the hearing of former Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque's bail and case dismissal application in the murder case of Jubo Dal activist Abdul Qayyum Ahad in Jatrabari, Dhaka.

A scuffle broke out in the courtroom of Justice Zakir Hossain and Justice KM Rasheduzzaman Raja's High Court bench. Amid the commotion, the court fixed today for the next hearing of the application.

At around 3 pm that day, senior lawyers MK Rahman, Kamrul Haque Siddiqui, ZI Khan Panna, Mohsin Rashid, Motahar Hossain Saju, Syed Mamun Mahbub and other pro-Awami League lawyers appeared in court to hear the case on behalf of Khairul Haque. State lawyers were already present in the courtroom.

When the hearing began, Deputy Attorney General Russell Ahmed, representing the state, told the court that the Attorney General had asked for a week's time. He kept it for hearing after a week. Then, lawyer Mohsin Rashid, representing Khairul Haque, told the Deputy Attorney General, "You cannot give such instructions to the court." With this, a commotion and uproar broke out between Khairul Haque's lawyer and the state's lawyers. There was also a scuffle. The state's lawyers told Khairul Haque's lawyers, "Where were you when former Chief Justice SK Sinha was deported? Today, you have come to seek bail for a scoundrel like Khairul Haque who is destroying democracy." The court repeatedly tried to dissuade the lawyers of both sides. At one point, the court set August 17 for the next hearing. Earlier, an application was filed in the High Court seeking bail for former Chief Justice and former Chairman of the Law Commission ABM Khairul Haque in the case of the murder of Jubo Dal activist Abdul Qayyum Ahad in Jatrabari, Dhaka during the July Movement. The case was also sought to be quashed.
