The validity of the group hospital insurance program for teachers, officers and employees of the National University has been renewed for two years. The agreement with Protective Islamic Life Insurance Limited in this regard has come into effect from July 1. It will continue till June 30, 2027. According to the decision of the university authorities, this insurance is mandatory for all permanent teachers, officers and employees. Even those employed on consignment or on a contractual basis will also come under this insurance.

According to the agreement of the university's Finance and Accounts Department, the spouse, parents (maximum age 70 years) and children (maximum age 25 years) of the concerned persons will get the benefit of this hospital insurance as dependents. However, an opportunity has also been kept for those who want to include new dependent members. They have been asked to enter the necessary information including national identity card, birth certificate number, date of birth and photograph in the university's PAMS software between August 17 and August 21 and submit the hard copy to the Welfare Branch, Finance and Accounts Department.

And the insurance premium will be deducted at the rate of 438 taka per month for the husband or wife, 396 taka for the child and 438 taka per person for the parents. However, those whose wives became pregnant before July 1 will not get maternity insurance benefits. The insurance premium will be deducted with arrears from July 1, 2025.

A recently published notification said that employees who have already included pets in accordance with the rules and now want to exclude them can submit an application to the Director of the Finance and Accounts Department within the specified time.
