The finance ministry approves proposal for recruitment of 4,000 ASIs

The home ministry's request to hire 4,000 unarmed Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) of police to strengthen the law enforcement force's capabilities was accepted by the finance ministry.
Kazi Lutful Hassan, the deputy secretary of the finance ministry's cost management unit, recently signed a letter approving the hiring of the police officers.
In order to reinforce the nation's top law and order force, these positions, which are in the fourteenth grade of the national pay scale, would be formed against various force units under a variety of terms and conditions.

According to official sources, the home ministry has already begun the required steps to hire 4,000 ASIs in advance of the next national parliamentary election after receiving approval.
According to the sources, 2000 ASIs will be hired directly, while the remaining 2000 will be upgraded from constable positions to ASI status.
