The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,739 cases against motor vehicles for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.

A media release of the DMP on Monday said that they filed those cases and realized the money on Sunday (October 26) through their regular drives against the traffic rule breakers.

A total of 298 motor vehicles were dumped, and 86 vehicles were towed due to poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of the DMP.

“The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets,” the release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic system under smooth control in the capital to give city dwellers easy movement.
