The Interim Government in a statement on Monday has said that the Council of Advisers will continue to perform its regular duties and hold meetings as usual until it hands over charge to an elected government.
The Chief Adviser’s Press Wing issued the statement following some comments made by Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam at the ‘Meet the Reporters’ event organised by the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Sunday.
‘Certain comments made by Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam about the activities of the Council of Advisers at the ‘Meet the Reporters’ event organised by the Dhaka Reporters Unity on Sunday have created some confusion after being published in the media,’ said the statement.
In reality, it is not correct that the government’s ongoing reform initiatives and policy formulation should be completed by November, it said, adding, rather, the reform activities will continue in full swing.
‘Additionally, the Council of Advisers will continue to perform its regular duties and the meeting of the Council of Advisers will be held regularly until the interim government hands over the charge to an elected government,’ the statement said.
