The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast rain or thunder showers at a few places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions for the next 24 hours, beginning at 9:00am on Tuesday.
“Rain or thunder showers is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions,” said a BMD bulletin on Tuesday morning.
It said weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country during the period.
Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, it also predicted.
Besides, the cyclonic storm “Montha” over southwest Bay and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal moved north-northwestwards, intensified into a Severe Cyclonic storm over westcentral Bay of Bengal and adjoining area at 6:00am today, said the BMD.
It is likely to move west-northwestwards further and cross Andhra Pradesh coast of India around Tuesday evening or night.
On Monday, the highest temperature recorded was 35.9 degrees Celsius in Khepupara, while the lowest temperature was recorded 21.8 degrees Celsius in Badalgachhi.
In Dhaka, the sun will set at 5:22pm on Tuesday and will rise at 6:03am on Wednesday.
