The National Consensus Commission has submitted its final recommendations to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, urging the interim government to issue the July National Charter 2025 (Constitutional Reform) Order without delay.

The commission formally handed over its recommendations to the chief adviser on Tuesday, a day after holding its closing meeting. The submission took place at the state guest house Jamuna, the official residence of the chief adviser, in the presence of members of the Advisory Council.

Chaired by Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, the commission’s final meeting was held on Monday at Jamuna. During the session, Yunus talked about the importance of preserving all documents, videos, audio recordings, and photographs from the commission’s proceedings, describing them as “invaluable assets and living records of history” that would shape future political discourse.

The chief adviser expressed his gratitude to political parties, government officials, researchers, and members of the media for their contributions to the commission’s work.

Commission members called on the interim government to finalise the roadmap for implementing the July National Charter and to act on the recommendations of other reform commissions.

The July National Charter 2025 was signed on 17 October at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban in Dhaka. Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, members of the National Consensus Commission, and leaders of various political parties attended the signing ceremony, which was boycotted by several groups, including the National Citizen Party (NCP).
