Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested Jubo League activist Nurul Mostafa Tipu from the Double Mooring area with arms and ammunition on Tuesday night.

OC Babul Azad of Double Mooring Police Station confirmed the arrest on Wednesday.

Nurul Mostafa Tipu, 50, wanted in several cases related to the anti-discrimination movement, had been evading law enforcement. He was finally arrested on the sixth floor of a building near the Government Commerce College area, the OC said.

During the arrest, police recovered multiple weapons from him, including a shotgun, a 9mm pistol, and ammunition.
