The Election Commission (EC) has directed field-level officials to hold pre-preparatory meetings to ensure that the upcoming 13th national election is conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner.
The directive was issued in a letter signed by EC Secretariat Deputy Secretary (Election Management-2) Mohammad Manir Hossain on Monday.
According to the letter, the decision was made during a monthly coordination meeting on October 16 last chaired by the Senior Secretary of the EC Secretariat.
The pre-preparatory meetings are to be organised in coordination with Regional Election Officers and Senior District Election Officers or District Election Officers, the letter stated.
Officials have been instructed to conduct these meetings promptly in anticipation of the upcoming national election.
The letter has been sent to all regional and district election officers to ensure uniform compliance across the country.
