A massive fire broke out at a cotton mill in Kaliganj of the district, causing an estimated loss of around Tk20 lakh.

The incident took place at around 12 noon on Thursday in a cotton godown inside the Salema Auto Rice Mill in the Kakina area of the upazila.

Upon receiving the information, a unit of Kaliganj Fire Service reached the spot. After about an hour of hectic effort, the fire service personnel were able to bring the blaze under control.
