A minor girl was killed in a road accident in the Nowhata area adjacent to the BSCIC industrial zone of the district town on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was Ayra Moni, 3, daughter of Engineer Md Likhon Mia, convener of the district National Citizen Party (NCP).
The accident occurred around 3pm on Khowarpar Road when the child fell between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a microbus near her house and was seriously injured.
She was rescued in a critical condition and died on the way to Sherpur District Sadar Hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Sadar Police Station Md Zubaidul Alam confirmed the matter.
