Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed said on Sunday that the implementation of the new Pay Commission would be decided by the next elected government.
“We can’t say much at this stage. Let’s see how far the process moves. The next government will likely take it forward, as we’ve already initiated it,” he told reporters.
Dr Ahmed was briefing the media following three separate meetings of the Advisers Council Committee on Economic Affairs, the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase, and the Food Planning and Monitoring Committee, held at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at Bangladesh Secretariat.
He added that the interim government would complete ongoing reforms only to a reasonable stage before handing over a consolidated framework to the incoming elected administration.
