Miscreant kills Judge’s son, wounds wife

An identified miscreant chopped a judge’s son to death and wounded his wife at Dabtala area in Rajshahi city on Thursday afternoon.

Police said the deceased was identified as Tawsif Rahman Sumon, 16, son of Abdur Rahman, a Metropolitan Session Judge. Judge Abdur Rahman’s wife, Tasmin Nahar is undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.

After visiting the place of occurrence, Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Muhammad Abu Sufian told the journalists that the attacker identified as Limon entered into the flat at Shark View Multi-storied Building. He (Limon) identified himself as the brother of the judge when he wrote his address in the entry note.

The attacker was arrested from the spot.

Commissioner Sufian said they recovered a driving license from Limon’s pocket. “We assumed he’s a driver and he might have had previous enmity with the family,” he added.

He also said Tasnim Nahar had filed a general diary with Sylhet’s Surma Police Station against Limon earlier.

“We are investigating the case to unearth the reason behind the murder,” the commissioner added.
