The Election Commission (EC) will unveil the expatriate voter registration app (Postal Vote BD) to facilitate Bangladeshi citizens living abroad in casting their votes.
"On the evening of 18 November, we will inaugurate Postal Vote BD as we aim to ensure the voting rights of expatriates this time," said Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah at a meeting with registered political parties at the Election Building in Agargaon, Dhaka, on the occasion of the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
He urged political parties to campaign for expatriate voter registration, saying, "If political parties promote this, our initiative will succeed."
Separately, a PID release stated that Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin will unveil the Postal Vote BD app at the EC Auditorium at a function from 6:00pm to 7:15pm on 18 November.
The app has been developed to ensure the voting rights of expatriate Bangladeshis.
Meanwhile, the EC will hold an online meeting this afternoon on expatriate voter registration.
According to an EC notice, a training session on IT-of-Country Voting (OCV) will be held via Zoom, in which all Regional Election Officers, Additional Regional Election Officers, Senior District/District Election Officers, Additional District Election Officers, and Upazila/Thana Election Officers will participate.
