Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Dr Asif Nazrul stated that the Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training (BMET) has digitalised all of its services with the launch of the "Overseas Employment Platform."

"With the launch of the "Overseas Employment Platform" on April 1, 2025, all BMET services are now totally digital." This platform has been linked to 64 district employment offices, 110 TTCs, and more than 2,200 recruiting agencies," he wrote in a post uploaded on Tuesday on his verified Facebook account.

He stated that in this system, which is linked to 185 missions worldwide, all tasks such as worker registration, requisition verification, approval, training, and immigration clearance can now be completed in one location.

The adviser stated that the system has halted informal transactions worth around Taka 100 crore per year, while transparency and accountability have been maintained throughout the process.

He stated that as a result of this digital transformation, the cost of fees for overseas workers has been reduced by at least Taka 1,000, migrants can track the status of their applications online, recruiting agencies' processing time has been cut in half, and the government can make quick decisions based on real-time data.

Furthermore, Dr Asif Nazrul stated that smart card and barcode-based online immigration clearance will be available in a matter of hours, free of charge, and without the need for cash transactions.

In fact, he stated that bribery, brokering, and other irregularities had ceased.
