The government has written to the Election Commission (EC) requesting that the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum go place on the same day.
Akhtar Ahmed, senior secretary of the EC Secretariat, told journalists this after attending a session at a major hotel on Saturday.
He stated, "On Thursday, the Cabinet Division delivered a letter to the Election Commission Secretariat announcing that the EC will hold the referendum. "The referendum and the national parliamentary election will take place on the same day."
