In an effort to ensure that consumers continue to have access to petroleum products at prices that are within their financial means, the government has decided to raise the price of fuel by two taka per litre, effective from the first of December.
Under the new pricing structure, the price of a litre of fuel would increase to Tk 104, up from Tk 102. On the other hand, the price of kerosene has increased from Tk 114 to Tk 116, the price of petrol to Tk 120 from Tk 118, and the price of octane to Tk 124 from Tk 122.
The modification, according to the officials, is a reflection of fluctuations in the prices of fuel around the world and is in accordance with the recently revised pricing formula, which intends to automatically calculate monthly fuel rates for customers.
