CA conveys sincere grief for the victims of Indonesia floods

Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser, has expressed his deep condolences to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto for the loss of life and widespread destruction caused by recent floods in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra.

"I have learnt with grave concern about the recent floods in the Aceh, North, and West Sumatra provinces of Indonesia, which have claimed so many precious lives and caused widespread devastation," he wrote to the Indonesian President in a message on Monday.

The message was released by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing on Tuesday.

"On behalf of the Government and people of Bangladesh, I would like to express my deepest condolences and sympathy for the deaths and destruction caused by the massive floods," Prof Yunus said, adding, "Our thoughts and prayers are with the Government and friendly people of Indonesia during this difficult time."

Bangladesh is prepared to provide all possible support and assistance for a speedy recovery, he stated, adding, "Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration."
