Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus visited BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia at Evercare Hospital on Wednesday evening, where Khaleda Zia is still getting intensive care for several health problems.

At 7:07pm, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir met the Chief Adviser and took him straight to the CCU, where Khaleda Zia has been getting medical care around the clock since her health got worse at the end of last month.

Another group of Chinese doctors is on their way to Dhaka

According to BNP sources, a second group of Chinese doctors is set to arrive in Dhaka later on Wednesday night to help the local and foreign doctors who are already managing her care.  This comes after a Chinese team of five people arrived earlier in the week.

Security around Evercare Hospital has got tighter since Khaleda Zia checked in

The building is being watched over by the Special Security Force (SSF), the Presidential Guard Regiment (PGR), the police, and people from other groups.  Barbed wire fences have been put up around the hospital’s main gate to make it stronger. This makes it harder for people in the area to get to the hospital.

What the Medical Board Says “Positive Response” warns people to be careful with rumours

Khaleda Zia, who is 80 years old, was admitted on November 23 with serious problems from liver, kidney, lung, heart, and metabolic illnesses that she had had for a long time.  When her health got worse on November 27, she was moved to the critical care unit (CCU).

Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, her personal doctor, said on Tuesday that the multidisciplinary medical board, which is made up of local and international specialists, has seen signs of improvement and that “there is a possibility she may recover this time.”

He told people not to believe the lies going around on social media and said again that Khaleda Zia is getting the right care at Evercare Hospital without any interruptions.

Advisor Government Names Khaleda a VVIP

The Advisor government has officially named Khaleda Zia a VVIP patient, which means she will have access to the best medical care and the safest possible environment.  Authorities have said that plans are being made to make it possible to get care abroad if the medical board suggests it.

Khaleda had already been to the UK on January 8th of this year for more advanced treatment.  She was taken to The London Clinic and treated for 17 days by Professor Patrick Kennedy and Professor Jennifer Cross, two well-known experts from around the world.  On January 25, she started getting care at the home of her older son, Tarique Rahman. She didn’t go back to Dhaka until May 6, after being away for almost four months.

A Very Important Time for the BNP and National Politics

The BNP leader is still dealing with a number of health problems, and her condition is still critical.  Leaders of the party have told followers not to gather outside of Evercare Hospital because too many people could make it harder for doctors to do their jobs.

Khaleda Both local and international teams are closely monitoring Khaleda Zia in critical care, striving to stabilise her condition.
