Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Thursday stressed enacting a separate law on an urgent basis to prevent fraudulence using artificial intelligence or online.
“The honourable chief adviser on Thursday’s meeting of the Council of Advisers gave a clear instruction to formulate a separate law on a very urgent basis to prevent fraudulence using artificial intelligence or online in Bangladesh,” Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said while briefing the media about the meeting at the Foreign Service Academy here on Thursday afternoon.
He said Prof Yunus stressed formulating the law specifying punishments and other necessary measures to combat the fraudulence, observing that the menace is tarnishing the country’s image globally and causing harassment of the citizens to receive different services like visa processing and others.
A large number of people have also been the victims of financial fraudulence, the press secretary noted.
