The government has decided to provide financial assistance to the families of those killed or injured in an Air Force training aircraft crash at Milestone School and College in the city's Uttara.
The decision was made during the Council of Advisers' weekly meeting on Thursday at the Chief Adviser's Office (CAO) in Dhaka, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.
"Family members of 36 people killed in the Millstone tragedy will receive Taka 20 lakh each, while injured people will receive Taka 5 lakh each once," Chief Adviser's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said while briefing the media about the cabinet meeting at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon.
Furthermore, he stated that injured people who require long-term treatment will receive free treatment at government hospitals, and that they will be given registration cards for medical care.
