The medical board set up to treat Sharif Osman Hadi, the Inquilab Manch spokesperson and possible independent candidate for Dhaka-8, who was badly hurt in a terrorist attack and is now getting care at Evercare Hospital in the capital, has shared new information about him.

On Saturday, the medical board sent out an official statement that said, “Osman Hadi’s brain has been severely damaged.”  Now that the process is over, it needs to be carefully overseen.  His kidneys are working again.  But his general state is very bad.”

Osman Hadi was moved from Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital to Evercare Hospital’s Critical Care Unit (CCU) after the surgery on December 12.

The medical board observed and decided:

  1. The patient’s brain has been hurt very badly. Now that surgery is over, he is under conservative treatment. After the brain protection routine is followed, all needed help will continue.  A CT scan of the brain may be done again once the person’s physical state gets a little better.
  2. The lungs are hurt. The chest drain tube has been kept in for now because a little bit of blood has come out through it. With the greatest care taken to avoid causing lung infections and ARDS, ventilator support will be continued.
  3. The kidneys are now working again. To keep this up, the planned flowing balance will be maintained in the right way.
  4. Even though there was once a problem with blood clotting and bleeding (DIC) in the body, it is now mostly under control. This situation is being watched all the time, and blood and blood component transfusions will keep happening when needed.
  5. The brain stem damage is causing the blood pressure and heart rate to change. The help that’s being given to lower blood pressure will not stop. If the heart rate drops to a dangerous level, the team is ready to quickly set up a temporary pacemaker.
  6. The Medical Board would like to thank the doctors and other staff who work in the One-Stop Crisis Centre, Radiology, ICU, Anaesthesia, Neurosurgery, and other areas at Dhaka Medical College Hospital for their amazing and selfless work.
  7. The patient’s general state right now is very bad.
  8. The Board has given the brothers and close family members of this Medical Samaritan patient detailed information. They can use the media to tell their fellow people about this if they want. The medical team has asked people to pray for Osman Hadi.
  9. People shouldn’t go to the hospital unless they need to. Visitors are not allowed.
  10. The Medical Board asks everyone to trust them and not share any rumors or false information. Everyone should work together to protect the patient’s privacy and respect.
  11. Our medical team is continuing his care with the highest level of professionalism, honesty, and sincerity. His quick healing is what the medical board and his family want everyone to pray for.

In the capital’s Calvert area of Bijoynagar on Friday afternoon, Osman Hadi was shot by attackers.  He was saved right away and brought to DMCH Hospital at 2:35 PM.

Osman Hadi and someone else were riding a bicycle, according to the police.  When the rickshaw got to Calvert Road, two guys on a motorcycle came, shot at Osman Hadi, and then left.  Hadi was taken to Evercare Hospital that night after getting initial treatment.
