The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit has recovered the motorbike, helmet and fake number plate used in the attack on Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Osman Hadi.
On December 14, at around 8:45 a.m., the items were recovered from an abandoned location in the Banalata residential area under the jurisdiction of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station.
Following a tip, CTTC members discovered the motorbike and helmet in a house's ground-floor parking lot, while the fake number plate was recovered from a nearby manhole.
Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media) of the DMP, confirmed the recovery on Wednesday.
CTTC officials stated that an analysis of CCTV footage revealed that the motorcycle's number plate had been changed.
According to investigators, the motorbike changed ownership eight times, beginning with Abdur Rahman and then being sold through several individuals.
It was later purchased in the name of Mainuddin Islam using Md Kabir's national identity card, who is an associate of Faisal Karim Masud, the primary suspect in the attack.
The seized items were turned over to the Detective Branch for further investigation.
Sharif Osman Hadi, an aspiring candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, was shot on Friday.
Hadi is currently being treated at a Singapore hospital.
