A court in Dhaka on Thursday placed Khadija Yasmin, daughter of top terror and notorious ‘seven-star’ syndicate kingpin Subrata Bain, on a five-day remand in a case lodged over the murder of Juba Dal leader Arif Shikder.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farha Farjana Haque passed the order.

Earlier on Tuesday, police had produced Khadija before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Hasibuzzaman and pleaded to place her on a seven-day remand in the case. But, as the prosecution failed to produce original case documents before the court, the matter was adjourned till Thursday.

According to the case documents, Arif, former sports affairs secretary of Jatiyatabadi Juba Dal Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) ward-36 unit, was shot in the city’s Noyatola area on April 19, 2025. He died of his injuries on April 21 at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Arif’s sister, Rima Akter, initially filed an attempted murder case against 10 with the Hatirjheel Police Station. The case was later transformed into a murder case after the death of Arif.
