The government has decided to offer special prayers and munajat after Jummah prayers in all mosques across the country on Friday in honour of Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi's eternal peace.
In a press release issued Thursday night, the Islamic Foundation requested that khatibs and imams in all mosques hold special prayers and munajat on Friday following Jummah prayers.
Hadi, a fearless frontline fighter in the July Uprising and spokesperson for the Inqilab Mancha, died on Thursday at a Singapore hospital after a six-day battle for his life.
Hadi, an aspiring independent candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, was shot while riding in a battery-powered autorickshaw on Box Culvert Road near Paltan Police Station on December 12.
