A court here on Tuesday placed two persons who allegedly helped prime suspect Foysal Karim Masud, in the case lodged over the murder of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi, fleeing to India, for the third time.
The two accused are Civion Dew, 32, and Sanjay Chisim, 22. Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Joshita Islam passed the order, placing Civion and Sanjay on a three-day remand each in the case.
The court also placed another accused, Foysal, on a three-day remand in the case. The same court on December 18 had placed Civion and Sanjay on a three-day remand for the first time. They were again taken on another five-day remand on December 21.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ripon Hossain on December 26 had sent them to jail.
Sharif Osman Hadi, an independent parliamentary candidate for Dhaka-8 and spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho, was shot on December 12 in the capital’s Bijoynagar Box Culvert area.
According to the case statement, two assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire on Hadi while he was travelling in a battery-run rickshaw and then fled the scene. Inqilab Moncho member secretary Abdullah Al Zaber filed the case with Paltan Model Police Station on December 14.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Siddiq Azad on December 20 ordered the inclusion of Section 302 (murder) of the Penal Code in the case filed over the attempted killing of Sharif Osman Hadi, turning it into a murder case following his death on December 18.
