Testimony in a case against 18 people, including ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and her nieces Tulip Siddiq and Azmina Siddiq, over alleged irregularities in the allocation of a plot under the RAJUK New Town Project concluded on Monday.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Assistant Director and Investigation Officer Afnan Jannat Keya testified before Dhaka Special Judge Court-4. She was, later, cross-examined by the defence. Following the completion of the cross-examination, Judge Robiul Alam formally closed the testimony phase and set 8 January for recording the defence statements.
A total of 31 witnesses testified in the case.
The ACC filed the case on 13 January, 2025, initially naming 16 accused, and later submitted a charge-sheet on 10 March against all 18 individuals.
