Education Adviser Professor Dr C R Abrar on Thursday said that the integration of science, technology and creativity can play key role in ensuring green industrialisation and positive climate change.

"Effective integration of science, technology and creativity is essential to achieving green industrialisation and addressing global climate change challenges," he said.

He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural session of the two-day international conference titled ‘2nd International Conference on Frontiers in Science: Innovation and Technology for Greener Industry’ held at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in Dhaka.

The theme of the conference is ‘Let the People Breathe Green’.

Education Adviser Abrar said institutions and research initiatives that successfully combine engineering with basic sciences are likely to become the nucleus of sustainable solutions in the future.

"This conference has created an important platform for knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration among young researchers, students, and established scientists and engineers," he said.

Referring to climate change, Dr Abrar stressed that greening efforts must go beyond symbolic activities and focus on scientific solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. "In this regard, research and technological innovation are most important," he added.

He further emphasised that coordinated efforts among universities, the government and the private sector are indispensable to promoting scientific research in the country.

The adviser also emphasised the importance of patenting and intellectual property rights in tackling climate challenges and promoting green industrialisation.
