Adviser to the Ministry of Chattogram Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Supradip Chakma on Saturday urged voters from all walks of life to cast ‘Yes’ vote in the ensuing referendum to be held alongside the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election.
He said that ‘Yes’ vote in the referendum would be the driving force for building a new Bangladesh.
The adviser made the call in the afternoon at a civic gathering in Rangamati, organised by the district administration, as part of a nationwide campaign in favour of ‘Yes’ vote in the referendum alongside the national election.
The event on referendum campaigning and voters’ motivation was held at the conference room of the Rangamati Deputy Commissioner (DC).
Rangamati DC Nazma Ashrafi presided over the meeting.
Additional Secretary of the Ministry of CHT Affairs Md Monirul Islam, Rangamati Hill Zila Parishad Chairman Agriculturist Kajal Talukder, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration Toufik Imam, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Abdur Rakib, Civil Surgeon Dr Nuyen Khisa, and President of Rangamati Press Club Anwar Al Haq, among others, also spoke on the occasion.
Adviser Supradip Chakma said the government and advisers are campaigning across the country in support of the referendum and election. If the ‘Yes’ vote wins in the referendum, the path to building a new Bangladesh will become much smoother. “This is our collective responsibility in building the state,” he added.
He also said that the government wants positive change and, therefore, everyone must be motivated to vote ‘Yes’ in the referendum.
After the meeting, CHT Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma inaugurated the referendum campaign and voter motivation activities through a vote-car caravan ‘Voter Gari’ from the district administration premises, under the slogan “Referendum 2026, Parliamentary Election—The key to the country is in your hands.”
